Pune, June 5, 2025 – A private bus overturned on the Pune-Solapur Highway near Adhegaon early Thursday morning, leaving 30 passengers injured, 20 of them seriously. The accident occurred around 4 a.m. when the driver allegedly fell asleep at the wheel, causing the bus to lose control and plunge into a roadside ditch.
The bus, registered as MH 48 K 1918, was traveling from Shirpur in Latur to Pune when the tragic incident unfolded. Eyewitnesses reported a loud crash as the vehicle overturned, prompting immediate response from locals and passing motorists who rushed to assist the injured.
Police and emergency teams arrived swiftly, coordinating rescue operations and ensuring the injured were transported to nearby hospitals. Preliminary investigations point to driver fatigue as the primary cause, with authorities continuing their probe for further details.
